Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy protects CaseThread, its practices and their clients. It forms part of the Terms of Service; breaching it may lead to suspension or termination.

Permitted use

Use CaseThread lawfully, ethically and only for legitimate social-work casework and the administration of your practice, in line with your professional obligations.

Prohibited conduct

Do not use the Service to store or transmit unlawful, infringing or malicious content, or malware.

Do not attempt to breach or probe security, defeat tenant isolation, access another practice's or user's data, or access any account or data you are not authorised to.

Do not disrupt, overload, scrape, or place unreasonable load on the Service or its infrastructure, or circumvent usage limits, rate limits or access controls.

Do not reverse-engineer, resell, sublicense or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly allowed, or misrepresent your identity or authority.

Your responsibility for client data

You are responsible for having a lawful basis and the necessary consents for the client information you enter, including guardian consent for children under POPIA §35, and for the accuracy and lawfulness of that information.

Communications & SMS

Client-facing SMS and email must relate to legitimate casework (for example appointment reminders) and go only to recipients who have the necessary consent. Honour opt-outs — recipients can reply STOP to end SMS, and you must not continue messaging a recipient who has opted out. Do not use the Service to send spam or unsolicited marketing, and comply with applicable rules (including ECTA and the WASPA code where relevant).

Fair use of metered features

SMS credits and storage are metered. Use them reasonably and in line with your plan; we may contact you about, or apply limits to, use that is excessive or that risks the stability of the Service.

Enforcement & reporting

We may investigate suspected breaches and, where necessary to protect the Service or others, suspend access with or without notice. Report abuse or security concerns to legal@casethread.co.za.
